Midrail Shutters

A midrail is a strengthening bar inserted into full height shutters. Midrails are optional, but we advise midrails to be used on shutters over 1800mm in height.

Aesthetically placing the midrail over an existing mulliun (window detail/opening top light) keeps the clean lines within the window design.

The midrail serves two purposes. The first offers strength in taller panels preventing twisting and warping. The second gives versatility allowing you to operate the louvre's above and below the midrail independently allowing privacy and light at the same time. Available in all our ranges.
